Shakshuka with Lavash

Ingredients

  • Onion 2 heads
  • Mild Chili Spice 2 pieces
  • Crushed Tomatoes in Their Own Juice 15 oz
  • Garlic 2 cloves
  • Ground Cumin to taste
  • Turmeric to taste
  • Paprika to taste
  • Chicken Egg 5 pieces
  • Armenian Lavash 1 piece
  • Cilantro 1 bunch
  • Feta cheese 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Chop the chili and onion, sauté until soft.

Step 2

Add crushed garlic and spices, mix and sauté for about another minute.

Step 3

Then add the tomatoes, season with salt, stir, and simmer the mixture on low heat for another 5 minutes.

Step 4

Make small indentations in the vegetables with a spoon and crack the eggs into them. Gently mix the egg whites into the mixture. Season the eggs with salt and pepper. Tear the lavash into several large pieces and insert them into the dish (as shown in the photo). Place the shakshuka in the oven at 355°F until the egg whites are set.

Step 5

Serve topped with herbs and pieces of feta.
