  • Dried Chili Pepper 1 piece
  • Garlic 1 clove
  • Olive Oil to taste
  • Basil 2 sprigs
  • Tomatoes 6 pieces
  • Melted Cheese 5 oz
  • Chicken Egg 6 pieces
  • Unleavened dough 5 pieces

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Scrape the seeds from the chili pepper, chop it into pieces, and place it in a large cold skillet.

Step 2

Thinly slice the garlic, add it to the skillet along with 4 tablespoons of olive oil, and set it over medium heat. Lightly salt and pepper, add the basil leaves, and sauté, stirring for about 1 minute, until you can chop the tomatoes.

Step 3

When the contents of the skillet start to sizzle, add the tomatoes, and after a couple of minutes, tear in the mozzarella pieces with your hands. Make small indentations and crack the eggs into the skillet one at a time. Cover with a lid and cook for 3–5 minutes, until the desired consistency is reached. Toast the bread. Season the eggs with salt and black pepper, and serve with slices of hot bread.
