Description

This is a very clever, original appetizer that can also serve as a hot dish. It's not something you eat often, as it can be quite rich. Nevertheless, it's always good to diversify the table!

Ingredients

  • Veal Mince 20 oz
  • Quail Egg 10 pieces
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Chocolate eggs 2 pieces
  • Breadcrumbs 5 oz
  • Olive Oil 25 fl oz
  • Spices to taste
  • Wheat Flour 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Prepare the minced meat.

Step 2

Add an egg and spices to the minced meat (it can be any type, even chicken; the dish will be somewhat dry regardless). Mix thoroughly. Let it sit so the spices can infuse.

Step 3

Boil the quail eggs, keeping them in cold water for a while to make peeling easier. Peeling the eggs is the longest procedure in preparing this dish.

Step 4

Take a small piece of minced meat, roll it into a ball. Flatten it into a patty, place the peeled egg in the center, and roll it into a ball using your hands. Repeat the process with all the eggs.

Step 5

Heat the oil in a deep fryer (I don't have one, so I poured oil into a saucepan). This will take about 5 minutes. Prepare three plates: one with flour, one with breadcrumbs, and the third with the beaten egg (whisked with a fork).

Step 6

Next, it's very simple. Take a ball, coat it in flour, then dip it in the egg, and finally roll it in the breadcrumbs. Drop it into the oil.
