
Savory Baguette with Cheese and Herbs

Description
Grate the cheese and mix it with the butter mixture. Use a thin knife to spread the mixture on pieces of baguette. You can substitute the baguette with a regular loaf of bread. If using a loaf, cut it lengthwise twice, then several times crosswise, and also spread with the butter mixture.
Ingredients
- French Baguette 1 piece
- Butter 1 tablespoon
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Dill 1 bunch
- Scallions to taste
- Hard Cheese 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Wash and dry the herbs (dill, onion) with a paper towel, then chop them.
Step 2
Peel the garlic, then press it through a garlic press or grate it on a fine grater.
Step 3
Slice the cheese into thin pieces.
Step 4
Mix the herbs and garlic with the butter, adding salt and pepper to taste.
Step 5
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 6
Place the baguette on the baking sheet.
Step 7
Place two chopsticks along the baguette on both sides—this will allow you to cut the baguette without cutting all the way through.
Step 8
Carefully place pieces of cheese into the resulting cuts.
Step 9
Generously spread the butter mixture on top.
Step 10
Place the baking sheet in a preheated oven for about 10 minutes (until the cheese melts).
Step 11
Serve hot.
