Description

The creative inspiration for this recipe comes from Mark Anderson at a common American restaurant, giving new life to everyday sprats.

Ingredients

  • Sprats 1 can
  • Dill ½ bunch
  • Semi-soft cream cheese 5 oz
  • Sourdough Bread 4 pieces

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Drain the oil from the sprats. Save the oil.

Step 2

In a blender, blend the soft cream cheese, sprats, half of the finely chopped dill, and a tablespoon of the sprat oil.

Step 3

Then, pass the mixture through a fine sieve (you can skip this step, but for a completely smooth paste, I recommend straining it).

Step 4

Toast the bread on a grill pan and cut it into squares about 2 cm on each side.

Step 5

Spread the sprat and cheese mixture on each piece and insert a toothpick.

Step 6

Sprinkle the tops with the remaining finely chopped dill.
