Ingredients

  • Rice ¾ cup
  • Water 2 cups
  • Milk 1½ cups
  • Pumpkin 10 oz
  • Salt 1 teaspoon
  • Sugar 4 tablespoons

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Cut a piece of pumpkin, remove the seeds and skin. Cut the pumpkin into small pieces.

Step 2

Place the pumpkin pieces in a pot, add water. Cook on low heat until tender (about 15 minutes). Then drain the water.

Step 3

Meanwhile, cook the rice. Add hot milk, pumpkin, salt, and sugar to the rice. Bring the rice porridge with pumpkin to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer. After about five minutes, taste for salt and sugar. If necessary, add missing ingredients. Simmer the porridge to the desired consistency. This may take between 10 to 30 minutes.
