Description
This sauce pairs excellently with spaghetti.
Ingredients
- Sprats 1 can
- Tomatoes 3 pieces
- Pitted olives 1 can
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Sugar 1 teaspoon
- Passata Tomato Sauce 2 tablespoons
- Salt to taste
- Fresh basil leaves a pinch
- Ground Black Pepper a pinch
- Olive Oil 3 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a skillet, heat the olive oil and sauté the garlic until golden, then remove it. This is done to infuse the sauce with flavor.
Step 2
Add finely chopped tomatoes to the hot oil. Sauté for 1 minute over high heat.
Step 3
Mix the tomato paste with sugar and spices, dilute with 4 tablespoons of water. Add to the tomatoes and simmer for 1–2 minutes over medium heat.
Step 4
Finely chop the sprats and olives, add them to the sauce. Simmer until ready for 2–3 minutes.
