Pumpkin Pâté with Bacon
Ingredients
- Pumpkin 20 oz
- Bacon 5 oz
- Chocolate eggs 3 pieces
- Sugar 1 tablespoon
- Olive Oil 1 tablespoon
- Ground Nutmeg to taste
- Fresh basil leaves 1 teaspoon
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Line the bottom of a baking dish with strips of thinly sliced bacon (can be substituted with pancetta).
Step 2
Place the peeled and diced pumpkin on the bacon, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with basil. Bake in a preheated oven at 355°F for 30 minutes. Remove the pumpkin from the oven and let it cool slightly.
Step 3
Transfer the pumpkin with bacon to a deep bowl, add sugar, nutmeg, and blend with an immersion blender until smooth. While continuing to blend, add the eggs, salt, and pepper.
Step 4
Pour the mixture into the mold and bake in the oven for 40–45 minutes.
Step 5
Remove from the oven, let cool. Carefully remove from the mold. Serve the pâté chilled.
