Puff Pastry Braid with Sausage, Tomatoes, and Cheese

Ingredients

  • Puff Pastry 10 oz
  • Cervelat Sausage 5 oz
  • Potato 1 piece
  • Cheese Spread 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Lay out the puff pastry (thawed at room temperature) on a floured surface and roll it out slightly.

Step 2

Make cuts along the edges of the pastry on both sides (opposite each other), leaving the center intact (as shown in the photo).

Step 3

Prepare the filling. Sauté the cooked sausage (you can use bacon or whatever you prefer), and place it in the center of the pastry, spreading it vertically (leaving the cut edges) — in my case, the sausage was sautéed with egg.

Step 4

Slice the tomato and place it on top of the sausage.

Step 5

Grate the cheese and sprinkle it over the tomatoes.

Step 6

Braid the pastry by alternately folding the left and right strips (the ones you cut earlier) towards the center of your culinary creation.

Step 7

Bake for about 25 minutes at a temperature of 180–390°F.
