
Potato Pancakes with Ground Meat

Description
The perfect potato pancake that will fit right in on a winter table when you crave hearty food. Essentially, it's a mini potato casserole, but made on the stovetop instead of in the oven. The ground meat can be either beef or pork, but fresh thyme would be a nice touch.
Ingredients
- Potato 20 oz
- Onion 1½ heads
- Chicken Egg 1 piece
- Wheat Flour 0 oz
- Ground meat 5 oz
- Parsley 0 oz
- Thyme 1 sprig
- Water 0 fl oz
- Vegetable Oil 0 fl oz
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Sour Cream to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Peel the onion and grate it finely.
Step 3
Grate the peeled potatoes on the same fine grater and add them to the onions.
Step 4
Add the egg, flour, and salt to the potatoes and onions. Mix until you achieve a slightly runny batter, similar to that used for pancakes.
Step 5
Finely chop the remaining onion.
Step 6
Finely chop the leaves of thyme and parsley.
Step 7
Mix the herbs and onions with the ground meat, then add water, salt, and pepper.
Step 8
In a skillet, heat vegetable oil over low heat and use a spoon to drop in some potato batter.
Step 9
Shape the minced meat into patties smaller in diameter than the potato pancakes and place them on top of the pancakes.
Step 10
Pour the potato dough over the filling so that it covers the meat.
Step 11
When the draniki turn golden brown on the bottom, flip them over and cook until the other side is the same color. Repeat this process with the remaining batter and filling.
Step 12
Serve the finished potato pancakes with filling topped with sour cream.
