Description
Pork pâté with caramelized apples
Ingredients
- Bacon 0 oz
- Pork Mince 20 oz
- Garlic 1 clove
- Thyme 0 oz
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Salt to taste
- Apple 2 pieces
- Butter 0 oz
- Brown Sugar 1 teaspoon
- Port Wine 2 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 140–300°F.
Step 2
Finely chop the bacon and mix it with the ground pork. Mash the garlic into a paste using a garlic press and add it to the meat mixture along with the thyme.
Step 3
Season the mixture with salt, add freshly ground black pepper, and mix well by hand.
Step 4
Place the mixture in a baking dish and cover it with a double layer of foil. Put it in the oven and bake for 1.5 hours.
Step 5
Remove the finished pâté from the oven and place a weight on top. Once the pâté has completely cooled, refrigerate it overnight.
Step 6
Melt the butter in a pan, add the sugar, and let it dissolve completely. Pour in the port wine, stir everything together, and add the peeled and sliced apples. Cook for a few minutes until the apples soften slightly and acquire a nice golden color.
Step 7
Serve the pâté with the apples and fresh baguette or toast.
