Pizza with Salami and Tomatoes
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- Salt 1 teaspoon
- Water 5 fl oz
- Olive Oil 1 tablespoon
- Dry yeast 1 teaspoon
- Spicy salami 5 oz
- Tomatoes 2 pieces
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese 4 tablespoons
- Basil 1 bunch
- Ketchup 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Dough. Mix the flour with the salt and yeast in a warm bowl. Make a well in the center, pour in the warm water and olive oil. Stir the ingredients with a wooden spoon until a soft dough forms. Place on a lightly floured surface. Knead for 5 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. Then, transfer the dough ball to a bowl and cover with a damp kitchen towel, placing it in a warm spot. Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
Step 2
Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Cut the salami into small pieces, dice the 2 tomatoes, and grate the Parmesan cheese.
Step 3
When the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface. Transfer it to a baking sheet. Spread ketchup over the dough, add the salami, then the diced tomatoes, and sprinkle everything with cheese.
Step 4
Bake in the oven for 20–25 minutes. When the pizza is ready, you can sprinkle it with fresh basil leaves.
