Pizza with Nectarine and Fresh Basil
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 4 cups
- Salt a pinch
- Water 1.67 cups
- Sugar 2 teaspoons
- Dry yeast 2 teaspoons
- Olive Oil 2 teaspoons
- Ricotta cheese to taste
- Melted Cheese to taste
- Parmesan Cheese to taste
- Basil ⅓ bunch
- Balsamic Vinegar 2 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Mix the flour and salt in a mixing bowl. In a separate bowl, combine the water, sugar, and yeast and let it sit for a few minutes until small bubbles form. Add the olive oil and mix. Start mixing the flour on low speed, gradually adding the oil-water mixture to the bowl. Knead until the dough is firm and homogeneous.
Step 2
Divide the dough into four balls. Brush the balls with olive oil and place them on parchment paper. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for about 2 hours.
Step 3
Dust a board and rolling pin with flour. Roll out the dough. The outer edge of the dough should be slightly thicker than the center.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 355°F (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with olive oil. Place the dough on the parchment paper or grease the pan. Brush the dough with a small amount of olive oil and use your hand to spread it evenly over the surface.
Step 5
Top the dough with mozzarella and ricotta. Layer thinly sliced nectarines on top, followed by parmesan cheese. Place in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes, until the crust is slightly brown and the cheese begins to melt.
Step 6
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh basil or arugula, drizzle with balsamic vinegar.
