Description
Pickled melon is served as a salad with grilled meat and poultry.
Ingredients
- Vinegar essence 10 fl oz
- Water 10 fl oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Honey 2 tablespoons
- Cinnamon to taste
- Ground clove 3 pieces
- Green peppercorns to taste
- Salt ½ teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Wash the melon of medium ripeness, cut it in half, remove the seeds and pulp, peel the skin, and cut the flesh into cubes.
Step 2
Place the prepared melon into small glass jars, pour cold marinade over it, cover with parchment paper, and tie it.
Step 3
Put the jars in a deep container, placing thick paper at the bottom (under the jars), fill the container with water to the level of the melon, and boil for one hour.
Step 4
After removing the container from the heat, leave the jars in it until cooled. Then take them out of the water and store in a cool place.
