Pickled Cabbage
Ingredients
- White Cabbage 0 lbs
- Carrot 1 piece
- Bay leaf 2 pieces
- Sugar 2½ tablespoons
- Salt 2½ tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Finely shred the cabbage and carrot or chop them in a food processor.
Step 2
Transfer to a clean three-liter jar.
Step 3
Dissolve the salt in 2.5 liters of cold water.
Step 4
Pour into the jar and add the bay leaves.
Step 5
Cover the jar's neck with cheesecloth and leave it at room temperature for 3 days.
Step 6
Then drain the brine and pour in the same 2.5 liters of water, but with sugar.
Step 7
Place in the refrigerator for another day.
