Philadelphia Rolls
Ingredients
- Rice 3 tablespoons
- Sugar ½ teaspoon
- Salt a pinch
- Semi-soft cream cheese 2 tablespoons
- Dried Nori Seaweed 1 piece
- Apple Cider Vinegar 1 teaspoon
- Smoked haddock fillet 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cook the rice, slightly overcooking it, adding salt and sugar. Drain the water, cool it down, add vinegar, and mix well.
Step 2
On a mat, lay out the fish in a nice even layer.
Step 3
Place the nori on top, then the rice, spreading it with your hands; also spread the cream cheese in the center (Philadelphia or Almette).
Step 4
Roll everything into a tight tube, and after a minute, carefully unroll the mat.
Step 5
Let the roll cool for a few minutes, then carefully cut it into 8 pieces with a sharp knife. Traditionally serve with ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce.
