- Fresh basil leaves 5 oz
- Garlic 5 cloves
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese 5 oz
- Olive Oil 0 fl oz
- Shelled pumpkin seeds 6 tablespoons

Step 1
To prepare the pesto sauce, roughly chop the basil, crush the garlic cloves with a knife, grate the cheese, and blend all the ingredients in a food processor into a smooth mixture along with the olive oil.

If the mixture is not smooth enough, gradually add more oil until you achieve a uniform consistency.
Step 3
Finally, add the shelled pumpkin seeds and blend again until smooth.
Step 4
Cook the penne according to the package instructions.
Step 5
Drain the penne and immediately mix it with the pesto sauce.
Step 6
Serve, garnished with pumpkin seeds on top.
