Description

This pâté is delicious spread on rye bread or toasted white bread croutons.

Ingredients

  • Frozen green bean pods 15 oz
  • Onion 2 heads
  • Garlic 1 clove
  • 20% Sour Cream 2 tablespoons
  • Semi-soft cream cheese 5 oz
  • Sugar ½ teaspoon
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable Oil 3 tablespoons
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Bring water to a boil, add salt, and toss in the green peas. Blanch for 4 minutes.

Step 2

Then drain in a colander and let cool.

Step 3

Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic.

Step 4

Heat vegetable oil in a skillet and sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.

Step 5

In a suitable bowl, combine the boiled peas. Set aside a tablespoon of peas for serving and puree the rest with a blender, adding the sautéed onion and garlic, cream cheese, and sour cream. Whip all the ingredients into a homogeneous mass.

Step 6

Season to taste with salt, pepper, and sugar.

Step 7

Chill the finished pâté.

Step 8

When serving, sprinkle with whole peas and pieces of cheese.
