Pastries with Cheese Fondue

Ingredients

  • Puff Pastry 15 oz
  • Gruyère cheese 5 oz
  • Edam Cheese 5 oz
  • Garlic 1 clove
  • Cream 5 fl oz
  • Paprika a pinch
  • Coarse Cornmeal 2 teaspoons
  • Vodka 0 fl oz
  • Dill 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon 1 piece

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 430°F. On a floured surface, roll out the pastry. The thickness of the pastry should not exceed 3 mm.

Step 2

Cut out 12 circles from the pastry, each 10 cm in diameter, and place them on a muffin tray. Prick the bottoms with a fork and refrigerate for 10 minutes. Line the resulting baskets with parchment paper and fill them with dry peas (to prevent the bottoms from puffing up during baking). Bake for 5 minutes until golden.

Step 3

In a saucepan, mix the cheeses (grate them finely beforehand), garlic, cream, lemon juice, and paprika, heat and stir until a smooth sauce forms. Mix the cornmeal and vodka, add to the saucepan, and cook for 2 minutes. Stir in the dill.

Step 4

Distribute the mixture into the pastry molds, serve the pastries warm.
