Pasta with Peppers and Ham

Ingredients

  • Serrano Chili 5 oz
  • Red Long Chili Peppers 2 pieces
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • Green Tagliatelle Pasta 15 oz
  • Basil 4 tablespoons
  • Capers 2 tablespoons
  • Spanish onions 3 heads
  • Olive Oil 3 tablespoons

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Cut the ham into strips. Remove the skin and seeds from the peppers and cut them into thin strips as well.

Step 2

Heat the oil in a pan, sauté the onion for 5 minutes until it becomes soft and translucent. Remove the pan from the heat, add the peppers, ham, capers, basil, season with salt and pepper, and return to the bowl.

Step 3

Take a large pot of salted water and bring it to a boil. Add the tagliatelle, let it boil, and cook for 8–10 minutes until soft. Drain and mix with the mixture in the bowl. It can be served warm or cold.

Step 4

Preheat the oven to 390°F or heat the grill and place the peppers on baking paper. Cook, turning occasionally, for 25 minutes until they are charred. Then place the peppers on a cutting board, cover with a towel, and let cool.
