Pasta with Chorizo and Tomatoes
Pasta and Pizza • Italian
Description
To properly cook the pasta, place it in salted boiling water, wait for it to boil, reduce the heat so that the water continues to boil, and cook until done, then rinse under cold water. Gruyère cheese can be substituted with Parmesan.
Ingredients
- Pasta (corkscrew) 10 oz
- Olive Oil 3 tablespoons
- Onion 1 head
- Sugar 1 tablespoon
- Gruyère cheese 5 oz
- Chorizo 5 oz
- Butter 0 oz
- Passata Tomato Sauce 3 tablespoons
- Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cook the pasta, rinse it under cold water, let it drain, and set aside.
Step 2
Prepare the tomato sauce with oil, tomatoes, and sugar.
Step 3
Set aside 2–3 tablespoons of tomato sauce, and mix the rest with the pasta. Add half of the cheese and place everything together in a deep dish. Sprinkle the chorizo on top and press the pieces into the dish to prevent drying out. Drizzle with the remaining tomato sauce and cheese, and drizzle with oil. Then send it to the oven.
Step 4
Bake for 15–30 minutes at 355°F until a golden crust and bubbles appear on the cheese. Serve immediately.
