Description

Open pie with tomatoes, thyme, and cheese

Ingredients

  • Butter 5 oz
  • Sugar 0 oz
  • Salt a pinch
  • Chicken Egg 1 piece
  • Meyer Lemon Juice 0 fl oz
  • Tomatoes 2 pieces
  • Activated Baking Soda a knife tip
  • Thyme 3 sprigs
  • Brown Sugar 0 oz
  • Olive Oil 0 fl oz
  • Wheat Flour 5 oz
  • Hard Cheese 0 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Cut the softened butter into pieces and add it to the flour, then add the egg, sugar, salt, and baking soda mixed with lemon juice, and mix thoroughly.

Step 2

Knead the dough, roll it into a ball, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Step 3

When the dough is ready, roll it out to a thickness of 1–1.5 cm. Take a fluted round mold and spread the dough across the bottom and sides. Place it in an oven preheated to 390°F and bake until golden brown for about 10 minutes.

Step 4

Once the pie base is golden, remove it and let it cool. Arrange the sliced tomatoes (large) in an overlapping pattern on the baked dough.

Step 5

Mix the thyme leaves with brown sugar and sprinkle over the tomatoes. Drizzle with olive oil and return to the oven at 390°F.

Step 6

Bake until the tomatoes are browned. When the pie is ready, remove it and immediately sprinkle with grated cheese.
