Onion Pie with Cheese
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 3 cups
- Margarine 5 oz
- Sour Cream 12 tablespoons
- Activated Baking Soda ½ teaspoon
- Onion 5 heads
- Egg white 3 pieces
- Cheese Spread 5 oz
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
For the dough, grate the margarine, add the flour, 9 tablespoons of sour cream, and baking soda, and knead the mixture. Divide into two parts and refrigerate while preparing the filling.
Step 2
For the filling, slice the onions into half-rings and sauté in butter or sunflower oil until translucent. Let cool. Add the eggs, 3 tablespoons of sour cream, grated cheese, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Step 3
Remove the dough from the refrigerator. Roll both parts into thin rectangles, place one in a baking dish (optimal size is 30x20 cm, but a baking sheet will also work), spread and evenly distribute the filling, cover with the second layer, and pinch the edges. Make several holes around the perimeter.
Step 4
Bake in the oven for 30 minutes at 390°F.
Step 5
Serve cold.
