Ingredients

  • Spanish onions 3 heads
  • Olive Oil 3 tablespoons
  • Soy Sauce 1½ tablespoons
  • Balsamic Vinegar 2 tablespoons
  • 20% Sour Cream 4 tablespoons
  • Semi-soft cream cheese 10 oz
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Dried Chamomile 1 teaspoon

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Peel and finely chop the onions.

Step 2

Heat olive oil in a skillet, add the onions and thyme, and sauté, stirring occasionally, until caramelized, about 20–25 minutes.

Step 3

Add balsamic vinegar and soy sauce, keep on heat, stirring occasionally, until the liquid has almost completely evaporated, about 10–12 minutes.

Step 4

Remove the onions from heat and let cool.

Step 5

While the onions are cooling, blend the sour cream, cream cheese, and black pepper until smooth using a mixer or blender.

Step 6

Add the cooled onions and blend again using the blender.

Step 7

Chill the prepared dip.

Step 8

Serve with toasted bread or sliced fresh vegetables (cucumbers, carrots, celery, radishes).
