Olive paste with walnuts
Ingredients
- Walnuts 0 oz
- Kalamata olives 10 oz
- Garlic 1 clove
- Olive Oil 0 fl oz
- Dijon Mustard 0 oz
- Thyme 1 tablespoon
- Fresh basil leaves 1 tablespoon
- Chopped Sage Leaves 0 oz
- Cayenne Pepper a pinch
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Toast the walnuts and chop them coarsely.
Step 2
Using a food processor, chop the olives and three tablespoons of walnuts, then add olive oil, mustard, garlic, thyme, oregano, and sage, along with a pinch of cayenne pepper. Blend everything into a paste with a fairly coarse texture, then stir in the remaining walnuts. The paste can be stored in the refrigerator for up to three days.
Step 3
Serve, for example, with a baguette: slice it, lightly brush the slices with olive oil, and bake in the oven at 355°F until golden brown.
