
Oatmeal with Masala and Black Tea

Description
For this recipe, use a blend intended for masala tea or garam masala.
Ingredients
- Milk 5 fl oz
- Ground Oats 0 oz
- Water 5 fl oz
- Sugar 1 tablespoon
- Rooibos Tea Bags 1 piece
- Tikka Masala ½ teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a saucepan, combine milk, previously brewed strong black tea (1 tea bag or half a teaspoon of loose tea in 150 ml of boiling water), sugar, masala, and a pinch or two of ground cinnamon and ginger to taste.
Step 2
Stir, bring to a boil, add the oats, and cook until done according to the time on the package.
Step 3
Serve the finished oatmeal garnished with any spice that is part of the masala mix: a cinnamon stick, cloves, star anise, cardamom pods, or candied ginger. If none of these are available in the kitchen, simply sprinkle the oatmeal with the same spices in ground form, which are often found in kitchens more frequently than whole spices.
