  • Milk 10 fl oz
  • Ground Oats 0 oz
  • Brown Sugar 1 tablespoon
  • Salt a pinch
  • Ground Cinnamon a pinch
  • Ground dried cherries 0 oz
  • Hazelnut to taste
  • Hazelnut to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Place the hazelnuts in a small baking dish and put them in an oven preheated to 340°F for 5 minutes. Remove, let cool to room temperature, and transfer to half of a dry kitchen towel. Cover the nuts with the other half and rub them to remove the skins. Chop the peeled nut kernels into coarse crumbs and discard the skins.

Step 2

Pour the milk into a small saucepan, set over medium heat, add the salt and brown sugar. Bring the milk to a boil and stir in the oats. Cook for about 5–7 minutes until thickened, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and mix in the ground cinnamon, hazelnuts, and dried cherries. Serve the oatmeal drizzled with a little hazelnut oil on top.
