Description

The simplest way to make oatmeal lighter is to replace milk with water or plant-based milk. However, in this case, it's a good idea to add fruits and spices to make it less bland. Apple and cinnamon are the best friends of oatmeal.

Ingredients

  • Butter 1 tablespoon
  • Oat flakes 5 oz
  • Apple 0 oz
  • Ground Cinnamon 1 tablespoon
  • Salt a pinch
  • Sugar 1 tablespoon
  • Honey 1½ spoons
  • Water 15 fl oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Pour the oatmeal into a pot, add salt and a spoonful of sugar. Stir, then add water and place a pat of butter on top. Put it on the stove over medium heat. While cooking, stir the porridge occasionally. As soon as the oats absorb all the water, remove from heat. If you have a very powerful stove, this will take about three minutes.

Step 2

While the porridge is boiling, cut half an apple into small cubes and place them in a bowl. Sprinkle cinnamon on top and add a tablespoon of honey.

Step 3

Once the porridge is ready, transfer it onto the apples with cinnamon and honey, and mix well. You can top it with berries or mint for garnish.
