Oatmeal a la Hot Chocolate with Whipped Cream
Breakfasts • World
Description
Cocoa nibs and cocoa butter can be found in vegetarian and health food stores.
Ingredients
- Milk 10 fl oz
- Oat flakes 0 oz
- Brown Sugar 1 tablespoon
- Ground Cinnamon ¼ teaspoon
- Cocoa Powder 2 teaspoons
- Cocoa Powder ½ teaspoon
- Whipped Cream to taste
- Liquid dark chocolate 0 oz
- Chocolate-Covered Coffee Beans 1 teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Boil the milk in a saucepan, add sugar (regular sugar can be used), cinnamon, cocoa powder, stir and cook for a minute, then add the oat flakes and cook over medium heat until the desired thickness is reached. When the oatmeal starts to bubble, add the chocolate, cocoa nibs, and cocoa butter, remove from heat, let the chocolate melt completely, stir the oatmeal until smooth, and cover if needed for extra thickness.
Step 2
Serve the oatmeal in mugs/cups/transparent jars or in faceted glasses like in a Soviet canteen, generously topped with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkled with ground cinnamon or sifted cocoa powder. Again, do not confuse it with hot chocolate.
