Mussels baked with sake, soy sauce, and ginger
Ingredients
- Pasta shells 20 oz
- Leek 2 pieces
- Spanish onions 1 head
- Scallions 4 stalks
- Carrot 1 piece
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Ground ancho chili pepper 1 piece
- Sake 4 tablespoons
- Grated Ginger Root 1 tablespoon
- Soy Sauce 2 tablespoons
- Butter 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 390°F. Rinse the mussels thoroughly. Check all shells and discard any that are open. Lay out 2 sheets of aluminum foil, shiny side up.
Step 2
In a bowl, mix the mussels and all the vegetables, finely chopping them. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Mix well and divide into 2 portions. Place each portion in the center of a sheet of foil and fold into an envelope.
Step 3
Slightly open the foil and drizzle the mussels with sake and soy sauce, placing pieces of butter on top. Tightly wrap the foil and place on 2 baking sheets. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes, until all the shells open. Transfer to plates and serve.
