Mushroom sauce made from button mushrooms with cream
Ingredients
- Fresh Mushrooms 5 oz
- 10% cream 5 fl oz
- Butter 0 oz
- Onion 1 piece
- Hard Cheese 1 tablespoon
- Nutmeg to taste
- Garlic 1 clove
- Meyer Lemon Juice 1 tablespoon
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste

Step 1
Good quality butter is the key to a delicious creamy sauce, so when choosing butter for the mushroom sauce made with champignons, opt for one with a pronounced buttery flavor.
Step 2
Melt butter in a skillet while finely chopping the onion. Add the onion to the melted butter and immediately season with salt and pepper. Sauté until translucent.
Step 3
Wipe the mushrooms with a damp cloth and slice them. You can also chop them finely for a smoother sauce, but I prefer when the mushrooms are cut into larger pieces.
Step 4
Sauté the mushrooms with the onions, stirring, until they are lightly browned. Then, pour in the cream.

Add a little more salt and pepper to taste, garlic, and a pinch of grated nutmeg. Nutmeg is best added to creamy sauces as it enhances the flavor of the cream. At this stage, you can also add a pinch of dried Italian herbs to the mushroom sauce if you enjoy their flavor.
Step 6
Stir the contents of the pan and keep it on low heat for about 15-20 minutes, allowing the sauce to reduce and thicken.
Step 7
Grate a little cheese, about 1 tablespoon, on a fine grater and add it to the sauce.

Quickly stir until the cheese melts, then add 1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice and turn off the heat.
Step 9
Mushroom sauce made with champignon mushrooms and cream turns out to be delicate, highly aromatic, and has an amazing creamy flavor, making any dish served with it much more appetizing.
Step 10
If you're making this sauce, adjust it to your taste. You don't have to include all the listed ingredients if you don't like them, such as garlic, herbs, or lemon juice. Either way, the sauce will turn out delicious!
