Mini Octopuses on Skewers
Appetizers • European
Description
These octopuses on skewers can serve as a wonderful hot or cold appetizer, or even as a main dish (for example, if you are on a diet).
Ingredients
- Meyer Lemon Juice 0 fl oz
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Octopus 20 oz
- Olive Oil 5 fl oz
- Thyme 3 sprigs
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare the marinade. Mix olive oil with lemon juice, add a little salt and thyme sprigs.
Step 2
Drop the octopuses into boiling water, set a timer for exactly 60 seconds, and after that time, remove them with a slotted spoon, let them cool, and then transfer to the marinade.
Step 3
Marinate for 1–2 hours (those who are particularly impatient can start cooking them after 40 minutes; after all, these are baby octopuses and they don't need much time, but it's better to wait if possible, it will only taste better).
Step 4
Skewer the octopuses on wooden skewers (it is often recommended to soak them in water beforehand to prevent burning during cooking, but I don't do this, they don't burn for me).
Step 5
Grill in a skillet until golden brown (the octopus legs will be especially tasty when grilled to a crisp) and serve with a fresh salad.
