Millet porridge with baked pumpkin
Ingredients
- Pumpkin 20 oz
- Millet 1 cup
- Milk 0 qt
- Sugar ½ cup
- Salt to taste
- Cinnamon to taste
- Honey to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Wash the pumpkin, peel it, and remove the seeds. Cut into cubes of 2-5 cm. Place in a baking dish. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Put in a preheated oven for about 60 minutes. During cooking, stir occasionally to evenly distribute the sugar syrup.
Step 2
Rinse the millet in cold water.
Step 3
Bring approximately 2 liters of water to a boil. Add the rinsed millet to the boiling water. Stir and bring back to a boil. After 5 minutes, drain in a colander; if the colander has large holes, use a sieve.
Step 4
Bring the milk to a boil, adding salt and 1.5 tablespoons of sugar.
Step 5
While stirring the milk, add the millet and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally until ready, approximately 30-40 minutes.
Step 6
Before serving in a bowl, add butter and the baked pumpkin, and you can drizzle with honey.
