Milk Rice Porridge with Apples and Raisins
Breakfasts • European
Description
Enjoy your meal. This porridge is either hated since childhood or loved to this day:)
Ingredients
- Boiled White Round Rice 5 oz
- Water 10 fl oz
- Ground Cinnamon to taste
- Butter 0 oz
- Vanilla salt a pinch
- Ground clove 3 pieces
- Brown Sugar 0 oz
- 3.2% Milk 0 fl oz
- Apple 2 pieces
- Raisins 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Rinse the rice several times. Pour in water (1:2, i.e., the water should be 1.5–2 times more than the rice — it should take up 1.5–2 times more space in the pot) and set on maximum heat until boiling. Cover with a lid and reduce the heat to low.
Step 2
When the water starts to evaporate, pour in the milk (or cream), add the raisins and brown sugar, and mix well. If the milk/water has evaporated and the rice is still raw, add more liquid.
Step 3
Add about 3 cloves, sprinkle with cinnamon to taste, and mix again.
Step 4
In a pan, heat the butter. Place the sliced apples in the butter and sprinkle with 2–3 tablespoons of sugar and cinnamon to taste. Reduce the heat and sauté over medium heat. There will be a caramel aroma.
Step 5
Now that the porridge and apples are ready, to your taste: you can mix the apples with the porridge (it will be very delicious) or simply garnish.
