  • Garlic 4 cloves
  • Chinese green beans 20 oz
  • Water 0 qt
  • Sugar 5 oz
  • Salt 1½ tablespoons
  • Malt Vinegar 0 fl oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Wash the green beans, trim the ends and remove the side 'string'. Place them in boiling salted water for 5 minutes, then drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.

Step 2

Pack the beans into a pre-sterilized glass jar, arranging them vertically. Place the peeled and scored garlic cloves on top.

Step 3

In a pot, bring a liter of water to a boil with sugar, salt, and vinegar. Pour the hot marinade over the beans. Seal tightly and allow the jar to cool completely. Store in a dark, cool place.
