Description
Macaroni and Cheese Waffles
Ingredients
- Macaroni 15 oz
- Salt to taste
- Butter 2 tablespoons
- Wheat Flour 1 tablespoon
- Milk 1 cup
- Pad Thai Sauce to taste
- Mustard Greens 1 teaspoon
- Cheshire Cheese 20 oz
- Maple syrup to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Place the macaroni in a large pot, cover with warm water so that the water is about 5 cm above the macaroni, add salt, and bring to a boil over high heat, stirring occasionally. Once boiling, continue to cook for about 6 minutes until the macaroni is tender. Drain the water.
Step 2
Meanwhile, melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the flour and continue to cook, stirring, until the mixture turns golden. Gradually whisk in the milk, spicy sauce, and mustard. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and stir in 300 g of cheese. If the desired consistency is achieved, transfer the mixture to a blender and blend on high speed until smooth.
Step 3
When the macaroni is ready, mix it with the cheese sauce, spread it on a pre-greased baking sheet, flatten it out, and place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Step 4
Preheat the waffle maker. Carefully cut the macaroni into 8 equal squares.
Step 5
Using a wide spatula, gently place 1 square on a cutting board, sprinkle with some cheese, and place a second square on top of the cheese, creating a sandwich.
Step 6
Place the sandwich in the waffle maker and bake for 6 minutes until golden brown on both sides and the cheese is crispy. Transfer to a plate and drizzle with maple syrup and spicy sauce.
Step 7
Repeat the same process with the remaining 6 squares.
