Lime Sauce with Mustard and Poppy Seeds
Sauces and Marinades • Author's
Description
Another version of vinaigrette that sounds exotic thanks to the tanginess of lime and the poppy seeds. This sauce is especially suitable for salads made with roasted vegetables, as well as combinations featuring smoked duck breast and berries (strawberries or raspberries). Just don't overdo it: add the sauce gradually and taste as you go; it should add intrigue to the salad without overpowering the flavors of the main ingredients.
Ingredients
- Lime ½ pieces
- Honey 1 tablespoon
- Salt ½ spoons
- Dijon Mustard 1 tablespoon
- Olive Oil 3 spoons
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Poppy seed paste ½ spoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Squeeze the lime into a jar with a screw-top lid, then add honey, mustard, and olive oil.
Step 2
Press the garlic into the same jar.
Step 3
Close the jar with the lid and shake it well (you can even do a little dance) until the sauce turns into a thick creamy emulsion.
Step 4
Unscrew the lid, pour the poppy seeds into the jar, close it again, and shake it well to distribute the seeds throughout the sauce.
