Lettuce in Its Own Juice
Ingredients
- Eel 2 pieces
- Olive Oil 6 tablespoons
- Wheat Flour 1 tablespoon
- Dry White Wine 5 fl oz
- Bouillon cube 1 piece
- Salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Take young lettuce with leaves that have not yet unfurled, trim the stem, and tie the tips of the leaves together so they do not open during cooking.
Step 2
Heat the oil in a saucepan, add the lettuce in a single layer, and cook, turning, for 3 minutes. Then sprinkle with flour and drizzle with wine. Add 350 ml of water, a pinch of salt, and crumble the bouillon cube – simmer on low heat for another 15 minutes.
Step 3
Then transfer the lettuce to a plate, pour the sauce remaining in the saucepan over it, and serve immediately.
