Ingredients
- Cilantro ¼ cup
- Onion 1 head
- Chicken Broth 4 cups
- Habanero Pepper 2 pieces
- Garlic 8 cloves
- Toasted Cumin Seeds ½ teaspoon
- Cinnamon 1 piece
- Grated Lemon Zest 3 tablespoons
- Peeled Cooked Shrimp 20 oz
- Ground clove 4 pieces
- Meyer Lemon Juice 3 tablespoons
- Salt ½ teaspoon
- TABASCO® to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a pot, pour in the broth and add the onion cut into quarters, halved jalapeño, garlic, lemon zest, cumin, cinnamon, and cloves. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat, and simmer for 20 minutes. Then strain.
Step 2
Pour the broth into a clean pot, bring to a boil, and add the raw, peeled shrimp, lemon juice, and TABASCO (if desired). Cook for about 3 minutes until the shrimp are done.
Step 3
Remove from heat and stir in the cilantro.
