Description

Lazy dumplings truly live up to their name — even the biggest couch potato can whip up a fantastic breakfast! Moreover, lazy dumplings can be enjoyed with any of your favorite toppings, whether it's honey, maple syrup, jam, preserves, fruits, or really anything your heart desires. At the very least, I hope you have some sour cream or yogurt on hand. The dough can be prepared in advance, for instance, the night before, and frozen so that in the morning you can simply take the dumplings out, toss them into boiling water, and save time on cooking.

Ingredients

  • Chicken Egg 1 piece
  • Semi-soft cream cheese 5 oz
  • Wheat Flour 0 oz
  • Sugar to taste
  • Salt to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1 Image

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine the cottage cheese, egg, sugar, and flour, and mix with a fork until smooth. If the mixture is too sticky, add more flour, but no more than half a tablespoon.

Step 2 Image

Step 2

Sprinkle a small amount of flour on the table and place the cottage cheese mixture on it. Divide it into two equal parts and roll each part into sausages of the same thickness.

Step 3 Image

Step 3

Using a sharp knife, cut the sausages into small, even pieces. If desired, you can gently flatten each piece and shape it into a round form.

Step 4

In a small pot, bring water to a boil. Carefully drop the dumplings into the boiling water one by one. Cook, gently stirring with a slotted spoon, until all the dumplings float to the surface, plus one additional minute.

Step 5

Transfer the cooked dumplings from the pot to plates and drizzle with jam, such as apricot. They can be served hot or warm.
