Description
Another masterpiece of folk art from Soviet and post-Soviet settlers from Korea. It is prepared in the same way as carrots. This is an adaptation of kimchi cabbage using local ingredients. From our 'Golden Thousand'.
Ingredients
- White Cabbage 5 lbs
- Carrot 4 pieces
- Garlic 2 heads
- Water 0 qt
- Sugar 5 oz
- Vegetable Oil 10 fl oz
- 9% Vinegar 10 fl oz
- Mild Chili Spice 1 tablespoon
- Ground Black Pepper 1 tablespoon
- Ground coriander 1 tablespoon
- Salt 3 spoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Remove the core from the cabbage.
Step 3
Cut the cabbage into squares about 3 cm on each side.
Step 4
Grate the carrot using a special grater for Korean-style carrots.
Step 5
Slice the garlic into large pieces.
Step 6
Mix the carrots and garlic.
Step 7
Layer the vegetables in a pot, starting with carrots and garlic, and finishing with cabbage.
Step 8
Bring water to a boil, then add salt, pepper, sugar, coriander, vinegar, and oil. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Step 9
Pour the hot brine over the vegetables, place a weight on top, and refrigerate or store in a cool place for 12 hours.
Step 10
After the time has passed, stir and serve.
