Description

Korean Carrots with Onions

Ingredients

  • Turnips 20 oz
  • Ground coriander to taste
  • Red Long Chili Peppers ½ teaspoon
  • Garlic 3 cloves
  • Onion 20 oz
  • Vegetable Oil 5 fl oz
  • Salt ½ teaspoon
  • Vinegar essence 1 teaspoon
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Sugar 1 tablespoon

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Grate the carrots using a special grater or cut them into long thin strips.

Step 2

Add sugar, red pepper, and salt to the carrots. Mix well.

Step 3

Chop the onion and fry it in vegetable oil until dark golden brown. Then remove the onion — it is not needed (although you can add it to the carrots, nothing will happen). Remove the oil from the heat, let it cool slightly, and add vinegar.

Step 4

Pour the hot oil over the carrots and mix. Add the garlic pressed through a garlic press. Mix everything well.

Step 5

Let it sit for 2–3 hours before serving.
