
Italian Sun-Dried Tomatoes

Description
This dish works wonderfully as an appetizer or as an ingredient in a salad or main course.
Ingredients
- Marinated cherries 10 oz
- Olive Oil to taste
- Garlic 1 head
- Balsamic Vinegar to taste
- Ocean salt to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cut the cherry tomatoes in half, then remove the green core.
Step 2
Place the tomatoes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 3
Slice the peeled garlic cloves thinly — the thinner, the better.
Step 4
Drizzle the tomatoes with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, then sprinkle with salt. You can also top with dried basil.
Step 5
Place one slice of garlic on each half of the tomatoes.
Step 6
Put the baking sheet in the oven. At a temperature of 50–140°F, the tomatoes should slow-cook for 10–11 hours. During cooking, the tomatoes will shrink slightly, and the garlic will darken.
Step 7
Remove the garlic slices from the finished tomatoes — they can be discarded as they have fulfilled their main purpose.
