Homemade Sushi

Ingredients

  • Long-Grain Rice 2 cups
  • Dried Nori Seaweed 6 sheets
  • Rice Vinegar for Sushi 0 fl oz
  • Water ½ liter
  • Sugar 0 oz
  • Salt 0 oz
  • Red drum fish 1 piece
  • Crab sticks in brine 10 pieces
  • Semi-soft cream cheese 5 oz
  • Scallions 1 bunch
  • Courgette 1 piece

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Take the measured amount of rice and rinse it with cold water. Then transfer the rice to a pot, add 0.5 liters of water, and place it on the stove over high heat. Once it boils, reduce the heat to low and cook for 15 minutes. After that, turn off the heat and let the rice sit in the pot for another 20 minutes without opening the lid.

Step 2

Meanwhile, prepare the vinegar solution: mix 50 ml of rice vinegar, 30 g of sugar, and 10 g of salt. Combine and microwave for 1.5 minutes.

Step 3

Then mix this solution with the cooling rice and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.

Step 4

For the filling: use red fish or crab sticks, any cream cheese, green onion, or fresh cucumber. Cut everything into thin strips.

Step 5

On a special sushi mat (or without it), place a sheet of nori. Put on gloves. Spread the rice evenly over the nori sheet, then add the filling on top. Roll it up tightly and refrigerate for 30 minutes (to make slicing easier).

Step 6

After that, slice into portions and serve.
