Description

Homemade Spaetzle with Black Pepper

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour 15 oz
  • Farm fresh eggs 2 pieces
  • Coarse Salt to taste
  • Butter 0 oz
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste
  • Chopped Sage Leaves to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In a bowl, mix the flour, eggs, and a pinch of salt. Then slowly add 240 ml of water to create a soft and somewhat runny dough. Beat it with a wooden spoon until bubbles form, then stir in 30 g of softened butter.

Step 2

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

Step 3

Pour about 240 ml of the dough into a colander with large holes, and use a wooden spoon to push the dough through over the boiling water. Cook for 1 minute, then transfer with a slotted spoon to another colander. Repeat the same with the remaining dough.

Step 4

Rinse the spaetzle under cold water (only if not serving immediately).

Step 5

Before serving, melt the remaining butter and warm the spaetzle. Season with pepper and sprinkle with parsley.
