Homemade Bolognese Pasta
Pasta and Pizza • Italian
Description
Homemade because it’s made with whatever is in the fridge right now, without running to the store for spices and herbs for a classic bolognese. It still turns out very delicious and far from boring.
Ingredients
- Ground meat 20 oz
- Pasta (corkscrew) 10 oz
- Sweet Red Onion 1 piece
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Vegetable Oil 1 tablespoon
- Passata Tomato Sauce 3 spoons
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese 0 oz
- Bacon 3 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a skillet, sauté the finely chopped onion and garlic in vegetable oil until fragrant.
Step 2
Add the minced meat and chopped bacon to the skillet. Continuously break apart any lumps with a spatula and stir to ensure the meat is crumbly.
Step 3
Once the filling is ready, add tomato paste and grated Parmesan cheese to the skillet, stir, reduce the heat, and let it simmer.
Step 4
Meanwhile, cook the pasta. I don't salt the water because I find that the tomato paste and sauce are quite salty on their own.
Step 5
When the pasta is ready, drain it in a colander, transfer it to plates, and top each serving with the meat sauce mixed with tomato paste.
