Herring with Potatoes and Sea Buckthorn Jam

Ingredients

  • Salad Potatoes 5 oz
  • Herring 5 oz
  • Chives 2 pieces
  • Dill 0 oz
  • Toasted Sesame 0 oz
  • Sea Buckthorn 0 oz
  • Basil 0 oz
  • Sugar 0 oz
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Cut out small balls from the potatoes and boil them until cooked, remembering to add salt; then toast the sesame seeds and coat the potatoes in sesame.

Step 2

Separately, slice the herring and place it on a plate, next to the potatoes.

Step 3

For the sauce, take the sea buckthorn, which can be fresh or frozen; in a saucepan, pour in a little water (30–40 ml), add the sea buckthorn, sugar, salt, pepper, and finely chopped basil, and heat for 3–4 minutes. Then strain through a sieve.

Step 4

Serve the herring with sea buckthorn jam.
