Description
Chopped herring with herbs can be used as a sauce, adding it to simple boiled potatoes or chicken breast.
Ingredients
- Herring 1 piece
- Green onion tops 3 pieces
- Parsley 0 oz
- Chervil 0 oz
- Olive Oil 0 fl oz
- Citrus Zest Mix ½ spoons
- Red Wine Vinegar ¼ spoons
- Meyer Lemon Juice 1 tablespoon
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Remove the fillets from the herring if you have a whole fish, and chop the remaining boneless flesh as finely as possible. Also, finely chop the green onions, parsley, and chervil. Zest the lemon to obtain fresh zest.
Step 2
Combine everything in a bowl, add olive oil and lemon juice, lightly drizzle with red wine sauce, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Cover the mixture with plastic wrap and let it rest for at least an hour.
