Description

A Turkish dressing that can be used as both a dip and a salad complement. Haydari itself is quite a hearty dish, as it harmoniously incorporates soft feta cheese and crushed nuts. It pairs wonderfully with fresh and roasted tomatoes, celery, and carrots. It's worth trying to incorporate it into salads with smoked meats or salmon. Or simply spread it on toast instead of butter.

Ingredients

  • Drinking Yogurt 5 fl oz
  • Feta cheese 0 oz
  • Walnuts 0 oz
  • Olive Oil 0 fl oz
  • Garlic 1 clove
  • Meyer Lemon Juice 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh Mint 1 sprig
  • Salt a pinch

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Finely chop the garlic, place it in a mortar, add a pinch of salt, and grind it into a paste.

Step 2

Separately grind the nuts into a paste.

Step 3

Pour the yogurt into a small jar with a screw-on lid and squeeze in the lemon juice.

Step 4

Remove the leaves from the mint, chop them finely, and add to the jar.

Step 5

Place the garlic and nuts in the jar.

Step 6

Finely chop the feta cheese and add it to the jar as well.

Step 7

Seal the jar with a lid and shake it well (you can even dance a little) until all the ingredients are combined.
