Hash Browns
Breakfasts • American
Description
Hash browns are a popular American breakfast dish made from grated or shredded potatoes that are pan-fried until crispy and golden. Often enjoyed with eggs, bacon, or served as a side dish, they are a favorite in diners and cafes across the country.
Ingredients
- Potato 2 pieces
- Ghee 2 spoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Grate the potatoes using a coarse grater, add them to boiling water, and cook for 2–3 minutes. Drain in a colander to remove excess water, then pat the potato shreds dry with paper towels.
Step 2
In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of butter, add the potatoes, and flatten them out. Cook covered on low heat for 6–8 minutes. Carefully flip the cake to the other side (if it falls apart, it's not a big deal), add the remaining butter, and continue frying for another 6 minutes.
Step 3
Serve with a spicy sauce.
